A very large ant, resting from the midday sun, known as a Bulldog Ant or Myrmecia sp. It's almost as big as a bulldog, too and they can apparently be very aggessive. I'm glad to be human, sometimes!
It's a tiny, sparkling green wasp found in Khon Kaen, 13.xii.14. It has been IDd by Joe Hartman as a Cuckoo Wasp of the family Chrysididae (Gold wasps/Emerald wasps). According to Joe, they lay their
eggs in nests of unrelated species. Probably where they get their vernacular name.
