A Fierce Assassin Bug

One day at a stream near Nam Nao town, Petchabun, I noticed a tiny orange flash moving rapidly around a rock. On closer inspection, I could see that it was some kind of assassin bug, possibly a nymph. It was running around in circles attempting to stick its proboscis (long tube) into a hairy caterpillar. Each time it tried, the caterpillar would turn towards the bug with its hairy face. The bug would pull back and the caterpillar moved on before another failed attack. This went on for several minutes, until the caterpillar eventually escaped. Call it an unsuccessful assissination attempt!Amazing to see and photographs do the scene no justice.
