Giant Forest Scorpion (Heterometrus spinifer)

When things go bump in the night ... it could be a nightmare for some or a dream for others. An amazing and very large species if scorpion, is the Giant Forest Scorpion or Heterometrus spinifer. They can be seen at the edge of forests or even in your garden. However, though they look scary, they will scurry away from you before they waste their time stinging you. Even then, their sting is only likened to that of a bee sting (I have been stung once in the finger trying to pick one up after a few pints of beer). Please don't kill them is you see them.

At the business end ... probably want to avoid this.
